New Delhi: Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahimwho was visiting India for the first time since assuming office in 2022, sang the Bollywood song ‘Enough for the fun of it.‘ during his stay in Delhi. The 77-year-old Prime Minister was in India from August 19 to 21.

At a farewell ceremony held in Delhi Taj Mahal HotelIbrahim performed the song from the 1964 film SangamThe hotel posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote: “It was a pleasure to witness the Honourable Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim showing his love for Bollywood music during his farewell ceremony at the iconic The Taj MahalNew Delhi.” The hotel also shared a video of Ibrahim singing the Mukesh classic.

According to a report by the Times of India, the Taj Mahal Hotel organised the Bollywood-themed farewell after Ibrahim expressed his admiration for the Hindi film industry and Shammi Kapoor.

The video has garnered thousands of views on X. One user commented: “Looks like the PM is a good singer.” Another wrote: “Kudos to the Taj Mahal Hotel for organising this for the PM! These gestures, perhaps minor, do play a role in strengthening relations.”

During his visit, Ibrahim met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed improving relations, which had been strained during Mahathir Mohamad’s tenure. He also met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

On Tuesday, India and Malaysia elevated their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership. On Wednesday, BJP president JP Nadda met Ibrahim and agreed to enhance relations between their parties through exchange visits.
