Delhi is packed with great restaurants, cafes and bars on every corner. With so many options at your fingertips and new places opening every week, there is no shortage of places to spend a nice evening with your partner, friends, family or colleagues. However, some places have found their special place in the heart of Delhi and will take your breath away with their amazing dining experience. One such place that I recently visited was Dramz in Mehrauli. I went in with an open mind and no preconceptions and came out deeply impressed and delighted after feasting my eyes on the gorgeous Qutub Minar, incredibly close to the restaurant, as well as enjoying a variety of interesting cocktails and tasty dishes.
After taking plenty of photos of the glowing Qutub Minar against the dark Delhi night sky, we ordered some cocktails to start the evening. Dramz offers a wide variety of drinks to choose from. We tried Tiki my wayan intensely flavored cocktail with dark and white rum and charred pineapple. Next up, melons – gin-based and packed with little scoops of watermelon that release more flavour as you sip. We also tried Orange and passion fruit margaritawhich was refreshing and had a sweet, citrusy taste. All the drinks looked stunning too.
Moving on to food, we tried Teriyaki chicken sushi roll which was very well made, looked tempting and tasted delicious. Another interesting dish on the menu is Dim Sum Niwatoriaccompanied by three different types of sauces: peanut and sesame dressing, black bean sauce and scallion and togarashi sauce. If you like lamb, you must order the BBQ Lamb SeekhThe pieces of meat were large and the meat was juicy and full of flavor.
After the meal, we had another round of bold and refreshing drinks. We tried Sour popcorn Made with bourbon whiskey and caramel, it was a little too intense and is ideal for hardcore whiskey lovers. A light and fresh drink is the Basil crest Made with fresh basil leaves and gin. It doesn’t get any better than this! Another aromatic whiskey cocktail named after the place is the Julep by Jolly DramzIf you love coffee-based cocktails, Dramz’s Martini espresso will capture your heart.
We tried some Italian dishes from the menu. Their Pizza with burrata cheese It tasted delicious and fresh. However, the burrata cheese was quite dry and lumpy. A rich and comforting Italian dish on the menu is the Alfred pasta, served in a rich, creamy cheese sauce.
Looking for dessert? Chocolate and walnut ice cream is a heavy and indulgent option packed with chocolate. It combines ice cream, nuts, crumble and hazelnut ganache. We also tried the Tiramisu which was served in a glass jar but didn’t taste very impressive.
In addition to the great food, drinks, and view, the staff at Dramz was attentive, friendly, courteous, and proactive. Whether you want to go out on a date, have a family dinner, or spend Friday night relaxing with your colleagues, Dramz will not disappoint.
