DUSU Elections 2024: DU holds meeting to discuss security arrangements for DU students union elections

University of Delhi The administration on Wednesday discussed preparations, including security arrangements for the student union elections to be held on September 27. Elections in different colleges will be held through ballot papers, while voting for the central panel of the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) will be held through EVM, an official statement said.

The university administration will be responsible for organising the voting through ballot papers, it said. Adequate police personnel will be deployed on the campus for the smooth conduct of the elections. “A meeting of the university administration for the smooth conduct of the DUSU 2024-25 elections was held at 2.30 pm in the council hall of the Vice-Regal Lodge,” the statement said.

During the meeting, security arrangements for the holding of DUSU elections were discussed, he added. “The DCP (North Zone) has ensured all possible police arrangements for the smooth functioning of the DUSU elections. The election of the faculty will be conducted through ballot papers and the faculty itself will take care of the arrangements. “Electronic voting machines will be made available only for the election of DUSU office-bearers,” the statement said.

The meeting was chaired by DU Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh and was attended by the Dean of Faculties, Director of South Campus, Provost, Dean of Student Welfare, Heads of Departments and Dean of Faculties, Director of Faculties, Choice of the HEART officials, DCP (North Zone) and other police officials.
