Eastern Railway to recruit for 3,115 apprentice posts, registration to begin from September 24

Eastern Railway will recruit candidates for 3,115 apprentice posts. The application process will begin on September 24 at rrcer.org.

The Railway Recruitment Cell of Eastern Railway has invited applications for Apprentice posts. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official website of RRC ER at rrcer.org. The application process will commence from 24th September and will end on 23rd October 2024.

This recruitment drive will fill 3,115 positions in the organization. Read below for eligibility requirements, selection process, and other details.

  • Howrah Division: 659 posts
  • Liluah’s Workshop: 612 posts
  • Sealdah Division: 440 positions
  • Kanchrapara Workshop: 187 posts
  • Malda Division: 138 positions
  • Asansol Division: 412 positions
  • Jamalpur Workshop: 667 posts

Eligibility criteria

The candidate must have passed the 10th class examination or its equivalent (under 10+2 examination system) with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized Board and must also possess the National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by NCVT/SCVT. Candidates must have completed 15 years of age and must not have completed 24 years of age (as on the last date for receipt of application).

Selection process

The selection of a candidate for a training post in a unit of Eastern Railway will be based on the merit prepared for all the eligible candidates applying on the basis of the notification. The merit list will be prepared based on the data/details filled by the candidates in the online application form.

A merit list will be prepared for the eligible candidates by taking the average of the percentage marks obtained by the candidates in both matriculations. [with minimum 50% (aggregate) marks] and the ITI exam giving equal weight to both.

Application fees

The application fee is 100/-. SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates are exempted from payment of application fee. Payment can be made through Debit Card/Credit Card/Internet Banking etc. For more details, candidates can refer to the official website of Eastern Railway, Railway Recruitment Cell.
