The state government has given administrative approval of over eight crore rupees for the tourism development of this temple. Under this plan, the development of the temple complex, entrance gate, accommodation for the devotees, facilities like restaurant, toilets and drinking water etc. will be constructed. Tourism Minister Nitish Mishra said that the Tourism Department has taken this decision regarding the redevelopment of Maa Katyayani Shaktipeeth. Funds have been allocated for the redevelopment of the Maa Katyayani Shaktipeeth site, the pride of Khagaria. This will not only enhance the beauty of the temple but will also promote tourism and make possible the development of Saharsa-Khagaria area. Tourism Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh said that all the religious tourist places in the state are being developed sequentially, in this context the plan for the redevelopment of Maa Katyayani temple is now going to take shape. The construction work has been planned keeping in mind the most modern facilities of the entire temple complex. The executing agency for this plan is the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation. The plan will be completed in the next 18 months after the formal procedures.
