Regarding capital.

An elderly man died after being hit by a goods vehicle on Friday morning in Karmatand on the Dhanwar-Saria main road. On suspicion, people caught a school van following the consignment. The deceased, Jumman Mian, 70, was a resident of Karmatand village. After the incident, angry relatives came out on the road and started demanding compensation from the van owner. As soon as the information was received, OP Parson in-charge Sunil Kumar and Dhanwar police station in-charge Satendra Kumar Pal reached the site of the Jam Sadal-Bal and started talking to people. In this case, the relatives insisted on calling the vehicle owner and demanding compensation from him. People cleared the jam around 9 o’clock after the police stopped the van driver and vehicle owner from the school located at Barhamsia in Birni block and took him to OP and assured him of providing government assistance. The road remained blocked for about one and a half hours. After the jam was lifted, the Parsan police took the body into their custody and sent it to Giridih for post-mortem. Due to the blockage of the main road, queues of vehicles formed on both sides of the road. The passengers had to face problems. However, later, when the driver was questioned strictly, he said that his car did not receive electric shocks. He said that Jumman died due to the impact of the vehicle in front of him. According to information, the deceased ran a tea shop in the village itself. He had left home in the morning to open his shop. Meanwhile, Jumman Mian was hit by a goods vehicle that was ahead of the Tata Magic, which was ferrying children from Kendua to school in Barhamsia. The goods vehicle fled after the incident. People seized the school vehicle on suspicion. The villagers took Jumman to a private hospital, where he died during treatment. At the spot, former MLA Rajkumar Yadav, Male’s senior MLA Ansari Bhai, Qayyum Ansari, BJP’s Ashok Rai, Upendra Singh, Kendua chief Kartik Das, Ashok Pandey etc. cooperated with the police to clear the jam and consoled the family members.
