The position, titled ‘AI Tutor – Bilingual (Full-Time)’, is a temporary, fully remote position lasting up to six months. Candidates will undergo a rigorous interview process, which will include an assessment of their English proficiency, both spoken and written.
xAI is hiring proficient tutors in languages such as Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, German, Russian, Italian, French, Arabic, Indonesian, Turkish, Hindi, Persian, Spanish and Portuguese. Tutors must specialize in one or more of these languages.
According to the job description, the primary responsibility is to generate high-quality, accurately labeled data to improve AI models in both English and an additional language.
Tutors will collaborate with the technical team to create datasets for model training and benchmarking. This will involve working with proprietary software to input and label language-specific data, ensuring it meets high-quality standards while addressing language nuances.
The role also includes participating in writing projects aimed at improving xAI’s generative AI models and collaborating on the design of annotation tools to improve data handling processes.
The candidate must be fluent in both English and other languages, in spoken and written form, in informal and professional contexts. They must have strong research skills and the ability to navigate various information sources, databases and online resources in both English and other languages is essential.
They must possess exceptional communication, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills, particularly in a cultural context. An expert level of reading comprehension in English and the additional language and the ability to make informed judgments with limited data are also essential.
According to the recruiter, someone with experience in technical writing, journalism, or professional writing focused on one or more of the above languages would be a good fit for the position. Additionally, the candidate must have a strong passion and commitment to technological advancements and innovation.
xAI has also mentioned that pay for this position can range from $35 per hour to $65 per hour and for full-time positions, benefits will include medical, vision, dental, STD, LTD, and life insurance.
This is a completely remote position. Team members are expected to work from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. PST for the first two weeks of training and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in their own time zone thereafter, the company said. .
