Employment and migration in Bishrampur villages, challenge of drinking water supply persists in the city.

Bishrampur Vidhan SabhaBishrampur (Palamu), Brajesh Dubey: The geographical location of Bishrampur assembly constituency in Jharkhand is different from other assemblies. It is spread across 2 wards. It includes 4 blocks and a municipal body of Palamu as well as 3 blocks and a municipal body of Garhwa district. This assembly has faced the horrors of Naxalism and extremism for two decades.

Development has long been hampered by extremism

Due to extremism, development in the area was hampered for a long time. However, many roads have been built in the area, including four-lane roads. Many have been proposed. Some are in the process of being built. Bridges and culverts were built on many rivers and streams, but development here did not occur at the pace it should have.

Bishrampur becomes an education centre, not a public university

With the creation of the university palamu Bishrampur district has been made the hub of education but even after 25 years of long movement, Bishrampur and Majhiyaan subdivision has not been created. Farmers are still waiting for construction of irrigation projects. Jharkhand The promise to build dams on the Son and Koel rivers that flow through the state has also not been fulfilled. There has been no initiative to create employment for young people in the area, nor has the migration of workers been stopped. Not a single project to supply drinking water in urban areas has been completed.

The first elections to the assembly were held in 1952.

Assembly elections were held here for the first time in 1952, at the time of unification of Bihar. At that time this assembly was known as Patan-Bishrampur. In which Lesliganj and Manatu areas were also included. At that time it was a common seat. In the year 1969, this assembly was reserved for Scheduled Castes. After delimitation in the year 1977, Bishrampur assembly constituency was formed which was kept under general category.

Dadai Dubey and Ramchandra Chandravanshi have been the linchpin of politics for 40 years.

For the last 40 years, two leaders Chandrashekhar Dubey alias Dadai Dubey and Ramchandra Chandravanshi have been the linchpin of the Bishrampur assembly constituency. Both of them have become MLAs from here 4 times each. During this period, both from united Bihar and Jharkhand He was even a government minister. Now, the increasing age of these two leaders may keep them away from electoral politics.

There has been a lot of development in the area: Ramchandra Chandravanshi

Former minister and MLA Ramchandra Chandravanshi said that a lot of development work has been done in the area. A network of roads has been laid. Bridges have been constructed on all the rivers. Vishrampur has been removed from extremism and Naxalism and has been made an educational hub. Bishrampur police subdivision has been formed. The Indian coalition government did not allow the work of irrigation schemes to be completed. The next government in the state will be formed by the BJP. After that, irrigation schemes will be implemented on the ground and Bishrampur will also get the status of a subdivision.

Bishrampur Assembly Constituency Issues

  • Bishrampur assembly area is an agricultural area. 70 percent of the population here depends on agriculture. However, there is not a single irrigation project so far.
  • The demand for supplying water to the fields by constructing dams on the Labji, Jhanjhi, Banki and Khuntisot rivers in the area is an old demand. No work has been done in this direction yet.
  • The Son and Koel rivers that flow through the area absorb hundreds of acres of arable land from dozens of villages every year during the rainy season. The demand for building dams along the banks of these two rivers has also been going on for years.
  • The demand for granting subdivision status to Bishrampur and Majhiyanv has been increasing over the last 25 years.
  • There is not a single university with government degrees in this assembly constituency. There has been a demand to open public universities in all 7 blocks.
  • There is always shortage of drinking water in Bishrampur, Pandu and Majhiyanv.
  • Providing employment for young people and stopping the migration of workers is also a challenge.

MLA did not do any work: Rajan Mehta

Rajan Mehta

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) state president Rajan Mehta has stood second in the 2019 assembly elections. Rajan Mehta has said that there are many problems in the Bishrampur assembly constituency. Even basic facilities are not available to the people here. Despite being an MLA for 4 times, Ramchandra Chandravanshi has not done any noteworthy work. All the promises he has made are half-hearted. Only development is being touted. Development has stopped here in the last 10 years.

What do common people of Bishrampur assembly constituency say?

Corruption has been rampant in government offices for the past five years. No significant development work has been done in the area. The people of the area are worried.

Halima Bibi, (outgoing president) Municipal Council, Bishrampur

While the establishment of educational institutions created a better environment for education, Vishrampur got a different identity in the country and the state. Even poor children are now becoming doctors and engineers. This is a great achievement in itself.

Rajan Pandey, (Principal) Red Rose Public School, Bishrampur

Development is a continuous process. The area has been developing, though the pace has been somewhat slow. If the irrigation projects were approved and Vishrampur was given subdivision status, many doors of development would have been opened.
