According to information, during the distribution of rations at the government quota shop located in the village on Wednesday, a woman was inserting her finger into the electronic pass machine. As soon as the woman removed her finger, the machine suddenly exploded. The people present there were frightened by the sound of the explosion. At the time of the incident, many card holders had gathered there to give thumb impressions. However, no one was injured.
Supply department involved in the investigation
Sunil Pushkar, district supply officer, said that information has been received about the explosion. On receiving information about the incident, a team of supply department and technical engineers was sent to the spot in the late evening. After investigation, the team members collected the machine parts and took it away. To ensure that the card holders do not face any problem in the distribution of ration, the department has handed over another new machine to the Kotedar. After this incident, the Kotedar and the villagers said that though a technical fault had been observed in the e-pass machine, this is the first time they have seen an explosion in the e-pass machine.
