“India can be among the top 10 destinations in the world in the next five years due to the increasing purchasing power of the population and the way the world views India today,” he added. He particularly highlighted the contributions of Buddhist tourism, domestic tourism and public-private partnership models. “Public-private partnership models are being promoted to create new destinations and resources for tourism.”

The Union Minister for Culture and Tourism noted that the tourism sector in the country has also progressed exponentially, saying that the monumental tourism potential on different search engines for India is nearly 48 per cent.

“People want to see India and get to know it,” he said, addressing the audience at the World Leaders Forum in New Delhi.

Shekhawat further noted that the Indian tourism industry has further potential for growth.

“I see domestic and international tourism going through a surge in the coming years, where domestic tourism will be key… Among the total tourists coming to India, 65 per cent are from seven Indian states,” he noted. The Union Minister shared that all states in India are keen to boost their tourism sector and contribute more to the country’s economy. He further mentioned that in the last decade, India has been growing rapidly as a result of consistent growth. growth and development “And tourism’s contribution to the economy in the coming years will be 10 percent.” “Our culture will help us emerge as the most respectable nation in the world,” he concluded.
