The father of the Spanish star of Euro 2024 Yamal sheet He was rushed to hospital after being attacked in a car park. Mounir Nasraoui was reportedly stabbed in the Spanish city of Mataró, according to La Vanguardia.
The Catalan police force, the Mossos d’Esquadra, have opened an investigation. Nasraoui is being treated at the Can Ruti hospital in Badalona, just ten kilometres from Barcelona. The police have identified several witnesses and will try to clarify the motive for the attack.
The attack is said to have been the result of a previous altercation. FC Barcelona Nasraoui became an instant hit at Euro 2024 and was one of the main catalysts for Spain claiming the Euro 2024 title in Germany. Nasraoui moved to Spain from Morocco at the age of nine and has been living in the country ever since.
FC Barcelona will make their debut in La Liga against Valencia and it remains to be seen whether Yamal will take part in the match. According to Relevo, Nasraoui has been discharged from hospital and is already at home.
She previously spoke about her son: “I knew about my son when he was born.
“I knew he was going to be a star. Any parent knows that and any parent wants their child to be the best.
“Not only in football, but also in love. [he gives] And as a person, he is a child and has a blessing from God, which is very important and must be valued.”
Yamal will be a big part of Hansi Flick’s plans as the Catalans look to exceed their expectations in a bid to challenge arch-rivals Real Madrid in the top flight of Spanish football.
