Bengaluru-based electric vehicle startup Ultraviolette Automotive has recently promoted Vinayak Bhat to the position of Chief Product Officer (CPO).
This strategic move comes at a time when Ultraviolette is seeking to expand its product portfolio and strengthen its presence in national and international markets.
Vinayak Bhat, who has been with the company since 2017, brings a wealth of experience in the aerospace and e-mobility sectors, making him a key asset in the company’s quest for innovation and market leadership.
The role and responsibilities of Vinayak Bhat
In his new role as CPO, Bhat will oversee the entire product lifecycle at Ultraviolette, from the initial concept and design phases through to market introduction.
His responsibilities will include expanding the company’s product portfolio, with a focus on vertical integration of critical components such as battery technology, drivetrain and vehicle architecture. Bhat aims to set new industry standards and strengthen Ultraviolette’s position as a global leader in high-performance electric vehicles.

My goal is to create exceptional products for global markets through our vertical integration strategy, specifically in critical elements such as battery technology, drivetrain and vehicle architecture. Bhat’s previous role
Prior to his promotion, Vinayak Bhat served as Technical Director and Principal Engineer at Ultraviolette.
During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in the development of key projects including the F77 Mach 2 and the F99 racing platform. His work involved coordinating various aspects of product development, engineering, operations and manufacturing.
Vinayak Bhat’s extensive experience in engineering, particularly in the aerospace industry, has provided him with a unique perspective that he brings to his role at Ultraviolette.
He started his career as a Structural Engineer at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in 2013, where he gained valuable experience in complex engineering projects.
Later, as a design analyst at Safran Engineering, Bhat contributed to major projects for industry giants such as Airbus and Boeing, focusing on critical components such as landing gear and fuselage parts.
