Ex-cop caught in cement and garlic scam in Akola: Video goes viral

In a strange turn of events, Akola is facing a garlic-related scam that is more baffling than spicy. With garlic prices skyrocketing, some crafty vendors are replacing real garlic with fake ones made of cement. That’s right: what should be a spicy clove is actually a piece of cement painted to look like garlic. Reports indicate that such cases are cropping up in several areas of Akola.

The matter came to light when Subhash Patil, a retired police officer living in Bajoria Nagar, encountered a similar situation. His wife bought garlic from a street vendor selling the product in their neighbourhood. However, upon returning home and trying to peel the garlic, they realised that the cloves were not separating as expected. Even cutting them with a knife did not work.

Take a look at the Viral Video:

A closer inspection revealed that the garlic was actually made of cement. The fake garlic was covered in white paint to make it look like real garlic. When we cut it open, the paint peeled off, revealing the cement inside.

The retired police officer has accused the street vendor of mixing fake garlic with real garlic and selling it to unsuspecting customers. This incident highlights the growing problem of fraudulent practices in the local market and raises concerns about consumer safety.
