India’s star batsman, Virat KohliHe is considered to be the best player of his generation and is feared by every cricket team in the world, but former Pakistan captain Babar Azam is often said to be superior to him.
However, former Pakistani presenter Danish Kaneria has a different opinion regarding the comparison between Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, and believes that the comparison is a waste of time.
Kaneria clearly says that the debate on who is better, Kohli or Babar, is nowhere near being one, considering Kohli’s achievements and his impact on the game. Speaking to sportsthanksKaneria dismissed the comparison entirely, adding that Kohli’s record far surpasses Babar’s.
“Who compares them? I am tired of hearing people compare them. When you talk about comparison, you have to look at the runs that Virat has scored. He has scored runs all over the world. He is a huge player.” high Kaneria said in an interview with SportTak.
The former Pakistani bowler even questioned the logic behind the comparison of the two players. He opined that Kohli’s presence on the field Political discourse alone has significant influence, while Babar has none. He accused the media of fuelling these unfounded comparisons.
According to him, critics and former players alike should wait until Kohli and Babar’s careers are over. However, he was confident that Kohli’s record will stand the test of time.
“Look at his height, when he comes on the field, his aura itself is different and he (Babar) doesn’t come close, forget about comparing them. All that is created by the channels to sell their product. I have had a lot of questions about comparing them but I have never done it. Look at the stats. When both of them retire, look at the stats,” he said.
