Odisha News: A youth was seriously injured in an attack by outside workers on Wednesday evening at Rabga village of Bamra block. After this matter came to the police station, the police arrested two accused and issued a court challan. According to information, some mechanics and outside workers were staying at the old Rabga Panchayat office and were employed in the tube well construction programme under the Swachh Bharat Mission. In the evening, Rinku, son of Naveen Kauri of Rabga village and Rohit, son of Dashrath Kauri, came to collect water from the hand pump located near the Rabga Panchayat office after cleaning their shop at Jurapali. At that time these workers were taking bath there.
Workers attacked with iron bars
There was an altercation between the two over taking water and then the workers attacked Rinku and Rohit with iron rods. Rohit suffered severe head injuries and lost a lot of blood. Both of them were given first aid at Garposh Hospital. After the fight, the workers fled from the spot of the incident. The villagers caught two workers from Garposh railway station and handed them over to Garposh post. Both the accused were trying to escape from the train.
Case registered through written complaint from the victim
Based on Rinku’s written complaint, outpost in-charge Amulya Gadnayak registered the case and interrogated both the accused. On receiving information about the incident, Govindpur police station officer Rajendra Behera along with the police team reached the police outpost in the evening and assessed the situation. The two workers arrested in this case have been accused of being Bangladeshis. The police arrested the two accused on Thursday and issued a writ petition.
