Following the matter coming to light, the administration has taken over this centre. Also, an FIR has been lodged against the Centre’s VLE. The administration had received information that VLEs were taking money from beneficiaries in exchange for application forms. Even Anganwadi workers and members of self-help groups were taking money. After receiving the complaint, Hemgir Block Development Officer Vishwanath Sahu got the Gram Panchayat level nodal officers to investigate it. After the investigation confirmed the complaint, the BDO came with a team and took over the centre. The machine used at the centre was also seized. An FIR has also been lodged against the VLE at the Centre. It is to be noted that the district administration has clarified that no fee will be charged for the application form of the scheme. Despite this, cases of beneficiaries being cheated in different ways are coming to light.

In the memorandum, it is demanded to fix a fee of Rs 100 for the service and provide a receipt for the same. Legal action has been sought against those charging high fees. On behalf of the forum, the chairperson, former MP Nihar Surin, BK Shukla, Lalan Srivastava and Abul Khairu submitted a memorandum to EO Rashmi Ranjan Das and SDPO Sushant Das.
