UP News: Sensational news has been coming in from Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh for the past few days. In fact, the ‘psychopath’ who was serially killing women and was a headache for the police has been arrested. The accused has also confessed to his crime of killing six women.
Bareilly Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anurag Arya briefed the media on the matter. He said that the police had released three sketches three days ago and the police have arrested a person similar to them. A reward of Rs 25,000 has been announced for the police team that nabs the accused. The accused has been identified as Kuldeep, 35, a resident of Bakarganj Sanua village under Nawabganj district police station area.
The accused confessed to having committed six incidents during interrogation
It is reported that with the help of information from the informant and pre-made sketches and available videos, the accused was identified and arrested. SSP Anurag Arya said that the accused confessed to having committed six incidents during interrogation, mainly from the district. Shahi and Shishgarh Police Station Area Between 2023 and 2024, incidents of strangulation of six middle-aged women in isolated locations were reported.
‘Operation Talaash’ campaign launched to arrest
The officer said that murder cases have been registered in Shahi and Shishgarh police stations in connection with these incidents. He said that the ‘Operation Talaash’ drive was launched to nab the accused and a total of 22 teams were formed after selecting qualified policemen from the district. During the drive, images from 1,500 CCTV cameras within a radius of 25 kilometres were scanned and 600 new CCTV cameras were installed.

According to reports, the accused “first asked the woman to have physical relations and when she refused, he would kill her by strangling her.” He committed all the incidents in Shahi and Shishgarh areas. After arresting the ‘psychopath’, the police took him to the crime scene, interrogated him and obtained detailed information about the murder of all the women. The women targeted by the ‘psychopath’ were all middle-aged. Apart from this, all of them died by strangulation.
Previously the accused used to sexually abuse
Before the murder, the accused used to sexually abuse them. All the women were alone during the incident. He used to talk to women for a long time before. After this, he would kill them as soon as he got a chance. Police said that the belongings of the murdered women were also recovered from Kuldeep Kumar.
