Five trainee sub-inspectors, including two women, who had been detained earlier for questioning, were arrested by the Special Operations Group (SOG) on Sunday for their alleged involvement in an incident of leaking documents of the sub-inspectors’ recruitment examination, officials said.

The five defendants were produced before a court, from where they were remanded in custody until September 7, they said.

According to an official statement, the arrested trainees include Shobha Raika and her brother Devesh Raima. Both are sons of former Rajasthan Public Service Commission member Ramuram Raika.

Three other trainees include Manju Devi, Avinash Palsania and Vijendra Kumar, the statement said.

The five trainees were detained from the Rajasthan Police Academy (RPA) and taken to the SOG office for questioning on Saturday.

So far, three separate chargesheets have been filed against the 61 accused in the 2021 Sub-Inspectors Recruitment Examination case. Among the 61 accused, 33 are trainee Sub-Inspectors, four are successful candidates who did not join the service and 24 are their associates who were also linked with the document leaking gang.

According to the statement, 65 other defendants are being sought.
