Florida man’s interaction with his judge friend in courtroom goes viral again — here’s why

Remember the emotional video of a defendant interacting with his classmate, a judge, that went viral in 2015?

The video has gone viral once again as the man returned to court on new robbery charges.

Arthur Nathaniel Booth, 58, made headlines when he appeared before Miami-Dade County Judge Mindy Glazer, a woman who had once been his classmate at Nautilus Middle School.

The old video showed Booth breaking down upon realizing the judge was his former high school classmate.

Booth had previously been arrested on charges of burglary and grand larceny. During the hearing, Judge Glazer recognized Booth and asked him if he attended Nautilus High School.

In the video, the judge recalled how they used to play football together and described Booth as a friend who was the “nicest” one in school. “I’m sorry to see you here,” Judge Glazer said in the courtroom. “I hope you can get through this okay and lead a legal life,” she was heard saying.

However, Booth, who appeared remorseful in the video, failed to live up to Judge Glazer’s hopes as he was recently arrested by Miami police.

Last week, Miami police arrested Booth again, charging him with a series of robberies across the city.

Booth reportedly posed as a plumber and robbed an elderly man in his home. Police said Booth forcibly snatched the man’s gold chain, threw him to the ground and fled the scene.

In another case, Booth posed as a water inspector to break into a home and steal a jewelry box.

He is also accused of approaching a woman who was changing her tire, asking her for directions and then snatching her gold Gucci pendant chain when she turned around.

Law enforcement tracked Booth down and eventually arrested him, as his actions were documented on surveillance video. This time, in court, he did not face his former classmate, but instead appeared before a different judge, who denied him bail and made sure he remained locked up at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center until his trial began.
