Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal recently announced a new partnership with International Centre for Scientific Research (CIC) The collaboration, dubbed “Zomato – Food Delivery on Trains,” allows passengers to order food directly through the popular Zomato app while travelling on the train.
Sharing the announcement on X (formerly known as Twitter), Deepinder Goyal wrote: “Update: Zomato We now deliver food directly to your train car at over 100 train stations, thanks to our partnership with International Centre for Scientific Research (CIC) We have already served 10 lakh orders on trains! Try it on your next trip!”
After Zomato In association with Indian Railways, several passengers shared their experience on X. Some said their experience was not good while others shared funny and humorous comments.

One user wanted to know: “That’s good. Considering that trains are often late, how does it work?” Zomato How can I manage this? Let’s say I place an order thinking that the train will arrive at station X at 1:00 pm, but it arrives at 3:00 pm. Does the delivery guy wait that long?
“The cash on delivery option should be available for train orders as there could be many cases where Zomato “Order cannot be delivered because train is late, delivery person can’t find bus, delivery person/restaurant is late,” the second user suggested.
A third user asked: “Will they deliver the tea by saying ‘chai chai’ in traditional railway style or will it be a silent delivery?”
Meanwhile, a fourth user said: “By the way, how much will the platform fee be at the railway platform?”
One user praised Zomato For the idea and wrote: “A fantastic initiative. Delivering food directly to your train carriage is a brilliant idea.”
