Former External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh breathed his last at Medanta Hospital.

Former External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh passed away on Saturday evening. He was 93. Natwar Singh, who was ailing for a long time, breathed his last at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. He was admitted here for the last few weeks. If reports are to be believed, his son is in the hospital. Many other family members are also arriving in Delhi where Natwar Singh’s last rites will be performed today. His health was not good for some time.

Congress Former MP Natwar Singh was born in 1931 in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district. He served as External Affairs Minister in the UPA government headed by then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in 2004-05. He also served as India’s ambassador to Pakistan and was attached to the office of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi from 1966 to 1971.

Natwar Singh was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1984. He had also written many famous books. Natwar Singh also wrote several popular books on foreign affairs and other subjects including ‘Nehru’s Legacy: A Memorial Tribute’ and ‘My China Diary 1956-88’. His autobiography ‘One Life is Not Enough’ also made headlines.

Randeep Surjewala paid tribute

Congress leader Randeep Surjewala paid tribute to Natwar Singh in a post on social media platform ‘X’. While sharing Natwar Singh’s photo, Surjewala wrote, The news of former External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh’s demise is sad. May God give his family the strength to bear this loss.
