Four thousand young doctors from UP stopped working

Lucknow: Four thousand doctors from UP medical institutions (UP News) protested against the brutality against the junior doctor at RG Medical College, Kolkata. On the request of the All India Federation of Resident Doctors Association, the junior doctors of KGMU Lucknow demonstrated in front of the administrative building. Due to the doctors’ strike, the OPD and other services except emergency and trauma services were disrupted for some time. Work boycott has also been reported in many other institutions. Due to this, patients had to face problems. After the demonstration, work began in almost all the institutions.

Demand for CBI inquiry into the incident

UP Resident Doctors Association officials have demanded a CBI probe into the gruesome incident that occurred with a West Bengal-based woman doctor and strengthening of security measures in all medical institutions across the country. Apart from this, the government has been demanded to immediately intervene and address the security concerns of doctors across the country by implementing the Central Medical Security Act.

The demonstration took place at the Faculty of Medicine.

In UP, junior doctors from Kanpur Dehat, Jalaun Medical College, Kalyan Singh Super Specialty Cancer Institute Lucknow, RIMS Saifai, Jhansi Medical College, Baba Raghav Das Medical College and Gorakhpur stopped work and took out a procession. All the junior doctors are demanding a CBI probe into the incident in West Bengal and increased security measures.
