Malaika Arora’s father Anil Mehta committed suicide yesterday i.e. on September 11, 2024. The actress asked for privacy from the media and her well-wishers when she posted the post about her father’s unexpected demise. Malaika was standing by her mother who could be seen breaking down at Mehta’s funeral.
Her close friends from Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan to her ex-husband Arbaaz Khan along with his wife and ex-boyfriend Arjun Kapoor attended the last rites of her late father.

Arbaaz Khan and his wife Sshura Khan were seen heading to the venue where the funeral was taking place. Sshura was wearing a sweatshirt and pants, while Arbaaz was seen in a white shirt and jeans. Their best friend Kareena Kapoor also made an appearance in a white shirt and pants. Actors Saif Ali Khan and Karisma Kapoor were also seen at the venue.
Arjun Kapoor arrived early for the funeral and was seen taking care of the visitors and tending to the things at the venue. The actor is receiving appreciation for supporting Malaika during her difficult period.
Other celebrities like Shibani Dandekar, Arshad Warsi along with his wife Sohail Khan, choreographer Geeta Kapur along with Terence Lewis, Gauahar Khan with her husband Zaid and many others walked in to pay their last respects to Malaika’s father. Actor Arshad Warsi arrived at the cremation ground in a black and grey ensemble.
Rapper and singer Guru Randhawa, choreographer Farah and Sajid Khan, director Punit Malhotra and Mini Mathur also attended the funeral. Actor Kim Sharma was also seen arriving at the venue.

Anil Mehta, Malaika Arora’s father, committed suicide yesterday, September 11, 2024. The death of Malaika’s father, according to Mumbai Police, “prima facie” appeared to be a suicide, and all other explanations are being investigated. The body of the deceased person has undergone an autopsy, according to DCP Crime Branch’s Raj Tilak Roshan, who spoke to the media. The investigation is being conducted by the police and forensic experts, he continued.
The tragic information was revealed by Malaika Arora’s mother Joyce, who was deeply saddened by Mehta’s death. She reportedly told the police that she found his slippers in the living room and went to look for him as he spends his days reading the newspaper on the balcony. A moment later, she looked down and saw the watchman calling for help. Anil Mehta’s death is said to have been caused by multiple injuries.
