Frustrated Ola Electric customer sets showroom on fire over service issues in Karnataka

A 26-year-old man, Mohammad Nadeem, set fire to a Electric Wave showroom in Kalaburagi, North karnatakaOn September 10, following frustrations over unresolved issues with his electric scooter.

According to media reports, the scooter was just two weeks old and had recurring problems that the showroom staff failed to fix, despite repeated visits from Nadeem.

Following a heated argument with the staff, Nadeem, who is a mechanic by profession, bought petrol and set the showroom on fire, which later resulted in his arrest.

“The response (of the service) was not good, he went several times. Yesterday (Tuesday), when he went, he was carrying petrol and set six motorbikes on fire,” said the Kalaburagi police commissioner.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported, but six scooters were destroyed in the fire, causing damages worth an estimated Rs 850,000. Ola Electric has not yet commented on the incident.
