Ganga Damodar Express sexual abuse case: Association supports TTE, know what passengers said

Was: A woman passenger of Ganga Damodar Express from Patna to Dhanbad accused TTE of sexual abuse. The incident occurred on Thursday night when the train was running between Chakand and Gaya. Based on the victim’s statement, GRP registered a case and accused TTE Randhir Kumar of being arrested and sent to jail. Meanwhile, the Indian Railway Ticket Checking Staff Association accused the Bihar police of falsely implicating TT in a sexual abuse case. On behalf of the association, it was claimed that TT had only imposed a fine on the woman who was travelling without a ticket. The allegations levelled against TTE are false. In its letter, the association writes that on the night of August 29-30, getting a ticket for a ticketless girl on train number 13330 between Patna and Gaya station was so difficult for the TTE that it was unimaginable.

Association came out to support TTE

The association informed that the case was that a girl was found on the train without a ticket and she refused to pay the fare and fine, so the TTE informed the departmental control office and sought help in collecting the railway revenue. The railway revenue was recovered after the intervention of the train captain on duty and fellow passengers. The girl was given a receipt worth Rs 395. Meanwhile, on reaching Gaya station, the girl, in revenge, lodged a complaint against the TTE under serious heads, accusing her of sexually abusing him.

However, TTE, anticipating this feeling of revenge, had taken statements from some of the passengers about the true incident. But the GRP rejected all these efforts and removed TTE from the vehicle and took him into custody. The evidence presented by TTE was not included in the investigation.

The letter further writes that Sir, it is a matter of thought and decision that if any retaliatory action is taken by the GRP against the passengers travelling without tickets in trains, a case under serious sections will be filed without If unilateral action is taken against the employees, how will any employee whether TTE or RPF staff be able to discharge his duty of railway security or revenue collection? Intervene for impartial inquiry into such a case and help in right direction of inquiry taking into account all the documents available with the TTE for your defence. This letter has been written to the Railways on behalf of Hemant Soni, General Secretary, Indian Railways Ticket Checking Staff Organisation.

TTE gave statements from passengers in support

The passengers have given a written statement on the whole matter that no such incident took place. There was only debate about not paying the fine or not getting the ticket. A passenger named Shyam Nandan said in a written statement that he was travelling in the Patna-Dhanbad train at that time. The girl was left without a ticket. There was definitely a ruckus, but no incident of molestation took place. The passenger named Sahil also denied the incident. A passenger named Gaurav also makes a similar statement.

If you don’t have a ticket, go to the bathroom… TTE called the train running at 12 midnight and then
