Giriraj Singh: Bangladesh will become Pakistan’s ‘Big Brother’

New Delhi: Stating that BangladeshControl has fallen into such hands that it will become the “big brother of PakistanUnion Minister Giriraj Singh said on Wednesday that investors will stay away from the neighbouring nation.

Singh was speaking at an inaugural event of Bharat Tex 2025 to be held from February 14 to 17 at Bharat Mandapam here.

The minister’s comment comes in the context of the recent violence that led to a regime change in Bangladesh.

“Ab Bangladesh Whose thread has been traced with such a hand, that Pakistan “Ka bada Bhai ban jayega, Chhota nahi rahega, which investor vehicle would like to go there (the reins of Bangladesh have fallen into such hands that it will become a big nuisance for Pakistan… so which investor would like to go there),” Singh said.

Elaborating on his remarks, the minister said that the Indian textile industry is not facing any challenge from either the Bangladesh or Vietnam, since India has a large labor market.

He also said that if Bangladesh It becomes like PakistanInvestors will think before they go there.

The minister also said there are plans to link all sectors to the production-linked incentive scheme.

“We are trying to implement more PLI programmes, to link all sectors with them,” Singh said.

Bharat Tex 2025 is a major global textile event organised by a consortium of Textile Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) and supported by the Ministry of Textiles.

It is positioned as a textile fair and a knowledge platform on a global scale.

The event will be held simultaneously at the twin venues of Bharat Mandapam and India Expo Centre and Mart Greater Noida.

While the main event will be held from February 14-17 at Bharat Mandapam, it will cover the entire textile value chain, handicraft-related exhibitions, garment machinery and ethnic wear from February 12-15 at India Expo Centre and Mart.

Bharat Tex 2025 aims to build on the resounding success of the last edition in 2024.

This year’s event is expected to see a record number of over 5,000 exhibitors, 6,000 international buyers from over 110 countries and more than 120,000 visitors.
