Band: Two people have been arrested for raping a girl and throwing her off a bridge in Banda, Uttar Pradesh. Police gave this information on Monday. Superintendent of Police Ankur Aggarwal said that a 21-year-old girl from a locality in the city’s Kotwali area had alleged that her acquaintance, Salman, forcefully took her to his friend Sushil’s room on Sunday night and raped her. The girl alleged that the accused threw her off the bridge in the early hours of Monday. However, the Superintendent of Police says that the girl had gone to her friend’s room in the evening to meet him and jumped off the Kalukuan flyover after an argument with the friend in the early hours of Monday.

A CCTV footage has surfaced on social media in which the girl is seen alone at 11.21 pm on Sunday night, locking the door from outside and quickly leaving her house. Aggarwal said that based on the complaint filed by the girl’s family, a case has been registered against Salman and his friend Sushil, residents of Narayani town, and both have been arrested. The condition of the girl admitted at the district hospital is serious but not in danger.

The alleged victim admitted to the hospital told reporters that she already knew Salman. The victim said that on Sunday night Salman called her to his room and from there took her to his friend Sushil’s room at Babulal Square, where he raped her and pushed her off the bridge in the morning.
