Good news for humidity-stricken Patna: monsoon rains are set to pour heavily in Bihar on Saturday.

Tomorrow’s weather: Patna. ‘Monsoon’ has become strong and active again in Bihar. The strong monsoon and cyclonic circulation together will lead to heavy rainfall in Bihar in the next 72 hours. Residents of the capital Patna will get relief from the heat and humidity after several days. The rain on Friday has caused the temperature to drop drastically. On Saturday, the Meteorological Department issued a yellow alert for rainfall in many districts including Patna, Muzaffarpur and Vaishali and an orange alert for rainfall in Jehanabad, Gaya.

Heavy rain alert in 5 districts

On August 24, the Patna Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall at one or two places in Kaimur, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Kishanganj and Araria districts. Apart from this, rainfall forecast has been issued at many places in West Champaran, East Champaran, Saran, Siwan, Gopalganj, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Vaishali, Shivhar, Samastipur, Buxar, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Bhabua, Aurangabad and Arwal, while there is a possibility of rainfall at a few places in rest of the districts.

Dividing line passing through Gaya

According to the Patna Meteorological Centre, a low pressure area has formed over northern Bangladesh and its surroundings. In connection with this, there is a cyclonic circulation in this area at 9.4 km above sea level. While the eastern end of the monsoon trough is passing over Sriganganagar (Rajasthan), Rohtak (Haryana), Aurai, Sidhi (Madhya Pradesh) and Gaya (Bihar). The cyclonic circulation over Jharkhand and its surroundings has merged with the monsoon trough. Due to this, moderate rainfall is forecast over southern Bihar including the capital Patna and Gaya, while light rainfall is forecast over some parts of northern Bihar. Heavy rainfall is also forecast at one or two places in Kaimur, Rohtas and Aurangabad districts.
