Ujiarpur: The GB meeting of the Ujiarpur Local Committee of the CPI(M) was held on Friday at Gavpur Yogi Chowk and Ramnagar Haat. Surendra Prasad Singh presided over Gavpur and Upendra Das presided over Ramnagar Haat. While speaking, MLA Ajay Kumar discussed the situation of the country in detail. He said that after the government announced to give five decimal land to the landless poor for settlement, thousands of poor labourers applied for help. But till date the Circle Officer has not looked into the application and has not provided land to the poor. A huge amount is collected in the name of land survey and registration. Farmers are worried about saving their land. There is looting of fertilisers, seeds and pesticides. He announced declaration of Ujiarpur block as drought-hit area, grant of land certificates beyond the ceiling of Raipur Mahant, end to looting of consumers through smart meters, restoration of link road in Dalit colony, a playground for youth, restoration of vacant posts, appealed to participate in demonstration at block headquarters on August 30 in connection with other demands including opening of sub-health centres in every panchayat and provision of sitting of doctors. District Minister Ramashray Mahato, Upendra Rai, Dinesh Paswan, Awadhesh Mishra etc. were present on the occasion.
