Governor Santosh Gangwar has lauded the three new laws implemented in the country – ‘Indian Judicial Code, Indian Civil Defence Code and Indian Evidence Act’. He said that for the development of any state, it is necessary to have better law and order. The Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, has implemented three new laws in the country, removing the old laws of the British era. The aim of these laws is to punish the culprits as well as provide justice to the victims. This is a historic step in the law and order situation in the country.

Santosh Gangwar further said that at present emergency services like police, fire brigade and ambulance are available round the clock on the state toll-free number 112. Due to the ongoing operations of the security forces against the Naxalites, 143 Naxalites have been arrested so far. While six Naxalites have been killed in encounters with the police. l A total of 21 Naxalites have surrendered so far under the policy of surrender and rehabilitation of Naxalites.

The Governor also mentioned the increase in cybercrime.

State Commissioner Santosh Gangwar also mentioned the growing cyber menace in the state and the actions being taken against it. He said that as our country is moving forward in the field of digitalisation, the number of cyber crimes is also increasing. Our Jharkhand, especially Santhal Pargana, is also not immune to this. In view of the increasing number of cyber crimes and their severity, new cyber police stations have been set up in eight districts including Ranchi, Dumka and Hazaribagh. So far, more than 95,000 complaints have been registered through the cyber helpline number 1930 and an amount of about Rs 16 crore has been blocked. A total amount of Rs 2 crore and 62 lakh has been returned to the accounts of the victims so far.
