Governor Santosh Gangwar said in Hazaribagh that women should be given benefits under both central and state schemes.

Hazaribagh, Anand Soren : Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar arrived at Churchu, a remote block of the district, on Wednesday. He was given God of Honour. Members of Marsal Primary Weavers Co-operative Committee Limited honoured the Governor. The Governor inspected Charhi Anganwadi Centre No. 02. Saplings were planted on the premises of the Anganwadi centre. He met maids, assistants and children and took information about education and nutrition. He distributed sweets among the children. The Governor arrived at Marsal Primary Weavers Co-operative Society Limited Centre located at Kajri village of Bahera Panchayat of the block.

Governor inspected the clothes prepared by weavers

He inspected the clothes and machines being prepared by the women. The Governor appreciated the work of the members of the Weavers’ Cooperation Committee. He said that the work of the cooperation committee is being carried out keeping in mind the interest of our sisters. He said that efforts will be made to increase the income of the sisters associated with the committee. He assured that the work system and problems of the weavers will be solved. He said that there is a lot of demand for quality manufactured clothes in the market. There is a possibility of further development in this area. The weavers were asked to write down their problems and send them to the Governor Bhavan. The women should tell their plans to increase their income.

One crore cheque handed over to Sakhi Mandal

Rajyapal presented a loan cheque of Rs 1 crore to the sisters of 50 Sakhi Mandals from the Rural Development Department. He expressed his best wishes that the women can become self-reliant by being self-employed. Asha Devi of Sakhi Mandal told the Governor that Sakhi Mandal has so far done business worth Rs 1 crore 30 lakh. Sunita Lakra said that due to lack of proper space in the centre and lack of proper marketing, the income of the women is not increasing. Successful women associated with the group told about the achievements of their group. Phuleshwar Mahato, a successful farmer of the district, gave information about FPO. He said that by joining the e-NAM portal, he was able to offer farmers the right price for their produce. Sabina Khatoon of Churchu Sariya said that by joining agriculture and animal husbandry, we women become self-reliant. So far, more than two thousand female farmers have joined.

At the spot, Commissioner Suman Kathleen Kispotta, DIG Sunil Kumar Bhaskar, DC Nancy Sahay, SP Arvind Kumar Singh, SDPO Baijnath Kumar Prasad, committee chairman Suresh Murmu, chief Niranjan Prasad Nayak, ZIP member Basudev Karmali, BDO Lalit Ram, Charhi police station in-charge Churchu police station in-charge Shambhu Sharan Das, Ango police station in-charge Janu Kumar, Charahi in-charge Sanjhali Murmu, Bahera in-charge Devki Mahato, Deputy in-charge Shivchand Murmu, Pansas Shakti Devi, Birsa Kisku and others were present.
