The Magen David Adom ambulance service said it treated 10 people, most of them injured by shrapnel. Both sides claimed to have caused casualties to their opposition.
Meanwhile, Israel has stepped up bombing in southern Beirut and vowed to retaliate against Iran following a ballistic missile attack last week. The escalation of the conflict risks greater US involvement, as Washington has been providing key military and diplomatic support to Israel. Iran-aligned militant groups in Syria, Iraq and Yemen have also launched long-range attacks against Israel, further complicating the situation.
