Haryana employment results remain on hold till state assembly elections

He Electoral Commission On Wednesday the statement of result of the ongoing recruitment process in Haryana, till the completion of the assembly elections in the state on October 4.

While the inquiry panel held that there was no violation of the Model Code of Conducthas suspended the declaration of results to “maintain a level playing field” and ensure that “no undue advantage accrues” to anyone.

The Congress had submitted two representations before the poll panel alleging that the BJP-led Haryana government had violated the Model Code of Conduct in the recruitment process for 5,600 vacancies for posts of constables in the Haryana Police, 76 posts of trained graduate teachers and physical fitness instructor by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission and recruitment for various positions by Haryana Public Service Commission.

The ECI said it had looked into the matter and sought a report from the state government which had made it “amply clear” that the selection process was initiated and the state government had sent necessary communication to the relevant statutory authorities well before the date of enforcement of the MCC from August 16.

It has also pointed out that as per the instructions of the Commission dated 02.01.2024, there is no impediment for the IJPSC, State Public Service Commissions or Staff Selection Commission or any other statutory authority to continue the regular recruitment process.

“Therefore, none of the directions of the Commission relating to the Model Code of Conduct have been violated. However, in order to maintain a level playing field and ensure that no one gets any undue advantage, the Commission has directed the state government not to announce the results of these recruitments till the Haryana Assembly elections are over,” the ECI said in its reply to Ramesh.
