MS Dhoni in action for CSK in the IPL

Simarjeet Singhthe young pace bowler for Chennai Super Kings (CSK), has expressed great admiration for his former captain, Mrs DhoniHaving made his LPI Following his debut for CSK in 2022, Simarjeet stated that he does not consider himself qualified to evaluate a player of Dhoni’s calibre. Under Dhoni’s captaincy, CSK has emerged as one of the most successful franchises in the IPL, winning a record five titles, making them one of the top teams in the cash-rich league.
“I can say one particular thing that does it, I think it’s MS Dhoni. He knows everything better than us because, I think, he’s always great. So I can’t, I’m nobody to judge or I can, I just get little things from him that you like for your game or something like that, so I think he’s the best that you can learn from,” Simarjeet told Sports Today in an exclusive interaction.
Simarjeet currently plays for East Delhi Riders in the Delhi Premier League (DPL), where he has taken 15 wickets and has had outstanding performances.
Following CSK’s victory in the IPL 2023, the World Cup-winning captain expressed his intention to play one more season as a way of showing gratitude for the immense support from fans across India.
During IPL 2024, Dhoni was used primarily in the latter stages of the innings due to a muscle injury that limited his ability to bat for extended periods. Although he continued to serve as a wicketkeeper for CSK, there remains uncertainty over his future in the IPL.
