There is good news for metro commuters. Indian Railway and National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) have joined hands to promote the ‘One India – One Ticket’ initiative to enhance the travel experience of passengers on mainline railways and Namo Bharat trains. Indian Railways said in a statement that the collaboration will provide a seamless travel solution, making it easier for passengers to book and travel using both Indian Railways and RRTS services.

How do One India-One Ticket services work?

After purchasing an IRCTC train e-ticket, passengers can also book Namo Bharat train tickets for up to eight travellers in a single transaction. The railways said the option to book RRTS tickets will be available on the PNR confirmation page and through the user’s booking history.

Users should note that each RRTS ticket will come with a unique QR code, which will be printed on the Electronic Booking Receipt (ERS) and the QR codes will be valid for four days: the day before the RRTS journey, the date of the journey itself and two days after.

Additionally, passengers will receive an individual Namo Bharat ticket with its own QR code, ensuring a hassle-free travel experience. Namo Bharat tickets booked in a single train booking will share the same origin and destination.

How to book One India-One ticket online?

Tickets can be booked up to 120 days in advance, as per the current railway booking window and once Namo Bharat tickets are successfully booked, users will receive a confirmation via SMS and email, with QR code details sent to their registered contact points.

For cancellation of tickets, users will receive a full refund of the RRTS fare, though the IRCTC convenience fare, payment gateway charges and taxes will be non-refundable. They can simply scan their RRTS QR codes at the station entry gates using ERS or the mobile app to access their journey.

How to book RRTS ticket on IRCTC website

You can book Namo Bharat train tickets through the IRCTC platform. If there is a nearby RRTS station available, you will be prompted to book an RRTS ticket after purchasing your train ticket. If you initially decline the offer, you can go back to your booking history to book an RRTS ticket later.

Additionally, users can book Namo Bharat train tickets for same-day travel even without purchasing a train ticket. The NCRTC said it is also considering offering unlimited travel passes for one to three days to enhance tourism in the Delhi NCR region.
