High-level meeting ahead of Jharkhand assembly elections, special vigil on border, strict vigil against criminals

Dhanbad: A meeting was held on Wednesday regarding sealing of inter-state borders and law and order in connection with the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections. City SP Ajit Kumar chaired the high-level meeting at the Dhanbad police headquarters auditorium. Police officials from four districts of Jharkhand and West Bengal chalked out a strategy to maintain special vigil at the border and keep a close watch on criminals.

Instructions to increase surveillance in border areas

The strategy of maintaining special surveillance over booths falling in border areas, conducting special control campaigns at checkpoints and conducting joint control campaigns in border areas was discussed. 48 hours before the vote, it was decided to seal the border and keep outside voters, party workers and outside leaders out of the area.

Will be keeping an eye on social media.

In addition to monitoring social media, it was agreed to establish mutual coordination with the communication system and exchange information. It was decided to strictly prohibit the recovery of illegal weapons, smuggling and illegal sale of liquor and drugs by conducting a campaign in the border area. By establishing mutual coordination between districts and police stations of the border state, an agreement was reached on the delegation of flying squads.

This will prohibit the circulation of criminals

The meeting asked the criminals to stop their movement in other border districts and share the details of the anti-social elements. It was decided in the meeting that along with information sharing, the list of criminals would also be shared, through which the arrest of the fugitive criminals could be ensured.
