In the Ukrainian capital, Prime Minister Modi and President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the National Museum, where they paid tribute to the memory of children at the martyrs’ exhibition. During his visit to Ukraine, Prime Minister Modi started his programme by visiting the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in kyiv, where he prayed. This is the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Ukraine since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The Children’s Memorial pays tribute to children whose lives were lost in the massive Russian invasion. The exhibition at the Museum of Ukraine displays documents and artifacts from the most significant military conflicts of the 20th and 21st centuries. In addition, the heroic struggle of Ukrainians for their freedom, independence and cultural identity was described. Prime Minister Modi and President Zelensky were seen talking at the National Museum of Ukraine. PM Modi, who arrived in the war zone, hugged President Zelensky and continued talking by putting his hand on his shoulder.

Talks between PM Modi and Zelensky will be held at the Mariinsky Palace
As part of his further programme, PM Modi will visit the Mariinsky Palace, where he will be received by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This will be followed by a limited meeting between the two leaders to discuss key issues. This will be followed by high-level delegation meetings, where important discussions on bilateral cooperation are expected. There will be exchange of documents to formalise agreements and cooperation between the two countries. Earlier in the day, PM Modi received a warm welcome from the Indian community when he arrived at the Hyatt Hotel in kyiv.
