He Indian Air Force (Israeli Air Force) said on Wednesday that one of its fighter jets inadvertently released an air tank due to a technical fault. The incident took place near the Pokhran Shooting Range in Rajasthan.

Following the incident, the force has ordered an inquiry to investigate the inadvertent release of the air tank. According to the IAF, no personal or material injuries have been reported.

IAF tweet:

“An inadvertent release of a fuel tank from an Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter aircraft took place near Pokhran “An accident occurred at the firing range today due to a technical glitch. An IAF inquiry has been ordered to investigate the incident. No damage to life or property has been reported,” the IAF said in its post X.

The nature of the “air storage” released by the plane is not immediately known. In military parlance, anything that is attached to an aircraft or part of it is called “air storage.” Bombs, missiles, ammunition and even fuel tanks are also called “air storage.”

Ramdevra police station sub-inspector Shankar Lal told PTI that some people heard a loud bang about a kilometre away from the village after which they rushed to the spot and found pieces of an object lying there.
