The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday announced ticket prices for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. The United Arab Emirates is gearing up to host the global event from October 3 as top teams from around the world look to battle it out for glory.

The ICC has revealed that ticket prices for the tournament will start at five dirhams (Rs 114.33). In addition, under-18s will have free access to watch the matches. This will be the first global women’s event in the region.

“One of the most exciting things about the UAE is its diversity. It is a place where everyone is represented. This means that this World Cup is effectively home to all 10 teams and the players can enjoy the support of passionate fans. With this in mind, I am delighted to announce today that tickets will be available from Dh5 and under-18s will enter free of charge,” said Geoff Allardice, ICC Chief Executive.

“We will also be working with the ECB and Dubai Sports Council to leave a legacy for the event. We will be hosting cryo festivals to give over 500 girls the opportunity to take part in the game and have a fun first experience with cricket,” Allardice added.

The head of the international body also thanked the Emirates Board of Governors for hosting the tournament after it was moved from Bangladesh to the UAE. “I would like to thank the ECB and our friends at the Dubai Sports Council, as well as the teams at Dubai International Stadium and Sharjah Cricket Stadium for their extraordinary efforts,” added Allardice.

Meanwhile, the iconic Burj Khalifa was lit up for a special light show. The ICC has released a video of the laser show at the Burj Khalifa.

At the World Cup, ten teams will battle it out for the top prize. The teams will be split into two groups of five each. Defending champion Australia will be in Group A with India, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Group B includes 2023 finalists South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh and Scotland.
