According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the IFS trainee officers of the 2023 batch met Modi this morning at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. In this batch, 36 IFS officers from 15 different states and union territories are undergoing training. The statement said that the trainee officers appreciated the success of the foreign policy under the leadership of the Prime Minister and sought his suggestions and guidance on their upcoming responsibilities and related tasks.

The Prime Minister suggested that wherever he is posted, he should proudly cherish the country’s culture and try to showcase it wherever he gets the opportunity. Modi advised the officials to overcome colonial mentality in all spheres of life, including personal conduct, and present themselves as proud representatives of the country.

“The Prime Minister also discussed how the perception of the country is changing globally,” the statement said. He said that we now interact with the world on equal footing, with mutual respect and dignity.” During this, the Prime Minister told the trainee officers how India fought the Covid pandemic compared to other countries. He told them how India is moving towards becoming the third largest economy in the world.

The Prime Minister also suggested them to expand their engagement with the Indian diaspora during their overseas postings.
