In view of torrential rains in Ranchi, the district administration has given these instructions

Weather alert in Ranchi: Life has been disrupted due to continuous rains in Ranchi. After the rain stopped on Tuesday, it started raining again at 7.30 pm. In view of the continuous torrential rains, the Ranchi district administration has directed all concerned officials to remain alert.

Ranchi DC Rahul Sinha has directed all officials to remain alert in the face of torrential rains. They have been asked to remain alert to deal with the emergency situation created by torrential rains in the district.

Power supply in the district should not be interrupted: DC

DC Rahul Sinha has directed all engineers to ensure necessary arrangements to deal with disruption in power supply due to trees falling on electric wires in the district as well as untoward incidents due to falling electric wires. He has asked that the names and mobile numbers of electrical and mechanical engineers be made public.

Instructions to physicians to be prepared to deal with seasonal diseases.

DC Rahul Sinha has asked the Civil Surgeon of Ranchi to keep ambulances, medicines and medical staff deployed round the clock in all hospitals to deal with viral fever, seasonal diseases or any emergency situation due to rain. He also asked the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department of Ranchi to provide pure drinking water in rural areas.

Instructions given to pay attention to bridges and trees on major roads.

In view of the continuous heavy rains in the district, all departments have been directed to keep a special vigil on the bridges/culverts/roads located in their respective areas and the trees on both sides of the road. In case of any damage to the bridge/culvert, the Deputy Commissioner has been asked to ensure movement on all routes by creating diversions for movement of people at the earliest.

They ask to monitor the increase in the water level of the dam

In view of the possibility of any untoward incident if the water level in all the dams located below Ranchi reaches the danger mark, all sources located in the lower areas have been asked to ensure that information is provided at the earliest. All have been instructed to take immediate action in case of water logging and blockage of drains in urban/rural areas and ensure necessary actions for drainage.

Instructions for staying in touch with NDRF in critical situations

The district agriculture and animal husbandry officials have been directed to take all necessary measures to protect farmers from lightning in the fields and in case of damage to animals. In case of excessive rainfall, subsidence/flow of rivers, ponds, dams and low lying places, NDRF/SDRF and the Deputy Commissioner have given instructions to ensure that the local diving team is kept on alert.
