The Department of Posts under the Ministry of Communications had earlier announced a recruitment drive for Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS), Branch Post Masters (BPM) and Assistant Branch Post Masters (ABPM).
In total, there are 44,228 vacancies available in various zonal circles. The notice was issued in June and the application period started on July 15. The last date for submitting applications is today, August 5. Applicants will have the opportunity to edit or correct their applications from August 6 to 8, 2024.

India Post GDS Recruitment 2024: How to Apply Online
Visit the Official Website: Go to the official website of India Post or the dedicated GDS recruitment portal – India Post GDS Online. Register: Click on the registration link and fill in the required details such as name, date of birth, mobile number and email id. After submitting, you will receive a unique registration number and password on your registered email and mobile number. Complete the Online Application Form: Log in using the registration number and password. Complete the application form by providing personal details, educational qualifications and other relevant information. Upload Required Documents: Upload scanned copies of the required documents such as your 10th grade mark sheet, a recent passport size photograph, signature and any other required certificates.
Pay Application Fee: Pay the application fee of Rs 100/- online through available payment methods like Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking or UPI.
Submit the application: Please review the completed application form and make sure all information is correct. Download and print the confirmation page for your records.

India Post GDS Recruitment 2024: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must possess a minimum educational qualification of passing 10th grade (matriculation) from a recognized board.
The age limit for these posts varies according to the category (GDS, BPM, ABPM). Detailed information regarding the age limits will be available in the official notification.
Candidates must be Indian citizens.
Preference may be given to candidates residing in areas where vacancies exist.

The salary for GDS posts at India Posts ranges from Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 16,000 per month, depending on the position and location. Additionally, GDS, BPM and ABPM may be entitled to other benefits such as health insurance and allowances, as per government regulations.

Selection for India Post GDS posts is quite straightforward. The merit list for the same will be based on the candidates’ scores in the 10th grade (matriculation) examination.
