Indian-American CEO had ‘worst’ experience on Air India flight

“Come with me to the worst first class cabin I have ever been in. This is from Chicago to Delhi, non-stop. Air IndiaIt cost $6,300 each way, or 250,000 miles. Look how disgusting. There was hair in there, stuff moving around in every compartment. Everything was broken, ruined, or had mold on it.

Anip Patel, chief executive of CaPatel Investments, had no idea where the $6,300 (Rs 527,000) he paid for his one-way business-class ticket from Chicago to Delhi would end up. According to the CEO, the 15-hour non-stop flight was a “nightmare” from start to finish. In his video, which has now gone viral, he detailed a number of problems, including a dirty cabin, a malfunctioning entertainment system and an unresponsive flight crew.

One of the most concerning aspects of the flight was the quality of the services. The CEO showed a white towel to wipe one’s face that was served cold, despite being advertised as hot. The CEO further criticised the state of the plane, pointing out stains on the reclining seats and broken equipment. He also expressed disappointment at the limited food options available on the flight, stating that 30% of the menu items were not available and that others were served on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Her post has sparked a heated debate on the quality of Air India’s services. Many social media users have expressed their own negative experiences with the airline, especially in light of Air India’s recent announcement of a $400 million refurbishment programme aimed at improving passenger experience. The Tata-owned airline is refurbishing 67 of its aircraft, with 27 Airbus A320neo aircraft already undergoing refurbishment.

According to the latest comments on the video, Air India has refunded Patel the cost of the flight. “I did not complain to @airindia but through social media they saw this video. They called me today and refunded me the full cost of the flight,” Patel said on September 18, adding to the comments section of the post. “They sorted it out and it is worth highlighting.”
