An Indian Army tactical drone has landed in Pakistan after losing control due to a “technical glitch,” the Indian Army said on Friday (August 23). The mini UAV was on a training mission when the incident occurred and the Army informed the Pakistani Army about the incident and asked them to return the UAV.

“At 0925 hours, a mini UAV which was on a training mission in Indian territory lost control due to technical glitch and strayed towards Pakistan’s Nikial sector opposite our Bhimber Gali sector. According to media reports, Pakistani troops have recovered it. A direct message has been sent to Pakistan Army to return the said UAV,” the Indian Army said.

Pakistani drone recovered in Rajasthan

On August 10, the Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a drone and a packet containing 3 kg of heroin, worth around Rs 15 crore, near a village along the India-Pakistan border in Rajasthan’s Anupgarh district, police said.

The drone apparently went off-line or suffered a technical malfunction, which foiled the smuggling attempt, police said. Anupgarh police chief Anil Kumar said that when Kaluram Nayak, a resident of 30APD village, went to his field, he saw a drone. The farmer informed the BSF troopers about this.

BSF soldiers found heroin in a yellow packet next to the drone and informed the local police about it, he said.
