Budget airline IndiGo faced a massive system outage on Saturday, leaving many passengers stranded at several airports in India. The airline acknowledged the outage and said it was working to resolve the issue while offering assistance to affected passengers.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), IndiGo assured its customers that airport staff are working to minimize waiting times at check-in counters. However, passengers reported that they faced problems, including difficulties with web check-in and delays in overall service.

The latest update on the matter was shared by the airline at 3:16 p.m. Many passengers took to the IndiGo X’s transmission and asked for a fresh update on the incident.

“6E 5288: how many times is it postponed?” asked one X user, stating that they had been queuing for over 1.5 hours to register.

“How long will it take to solve the problem?” another user asked, noting that they had been trying to do web check-in since this morning.

Some passengers shared similar concerns, mentioning that they had not been able to use the web check-in service for eight hours. Passengers are advised to use the web check-in service, an online process that allows them to check-in for their flight before arriving at the airport to ensure hassle-free security checks. Videos emerged on social media showing “train station-like crowds” at airports.

Notably, airports are experiencing increased foot traffic these days due to the festive season and Navratri celebrations. Some unconfirmed reports suggested the outage began after 12:10 on Saturday.
