In an attempt to boost tourism, Indonesia has announced visa-free travel to 96 countries. The new visa-free policy now allows citizens of 96 countries, including the US, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and Mexico, to enter Indonesia without a visa.
In May 2024, there was a significant increase in international tourist arrivals to Indonesia, reaching 1.15 million visitors. Most of these visitors came from neighboring countries, with Malaysia (17.47%), Australia (11.98%) and Singapore (9.69%) leading the way.
As a result, citizens of 96 countries can travel to Indonesia without needing a visa, including those from France, Germany, Australia, Japan, the United States and Singapore. This extensive visa-free policy has made Indonesia a more accessible country.
