Kasauli: Organizers of the Khushwant Singh Literary Festival are facing a huge backlash for inviting Indrani Mukerjea to perform at the event.
Indrani Mukerjea, accused of the murder of her daughter, Sheena Bora, gave a dance performance at the Kasauli literary festival on Friday. He was also a panelist at the last edition of the festival.
However, netizens have expressed their disappointment with the organizers for giving a platform to Indrani Mukerjea.
“Watching Indrani Mukerjea perform and be legitimized at an illuminated festival, which is also named after Khushwant Singh, makes me sick to my stomach,” wrote one user on X.
The publication obtained more than 240.8 thousand views and several reactions.
“It is disheartening to see someone like Indrani Mukerjea being celebrated in an illuminated festival named after Khushwant Singh, whose legacy represents integrity and honesty. This sends the wrong message about responsibility and justice. We should raise voices that inspire and eleven, not those that embody controversy and scandal,” commented another user.
“Money can’t buy everything, but money can buy most things!” opined a second user.
Another asked: “How did the organizers allow this?”
