Infosys, a global leader in IT and consulting, has introduced two new small language models (SLM) designed specifically for the banking and IT operations sectors.
These models, called Infosys Topaz BankingSLM and Infosys Topaz ITOpsSLM, are built using NVIDIA’s advanced AI stack.
Infosys intends these models to provide industry-specific AI capabilities for enterprises, offering efficient and scalable solutions for companies looking to improve their AI integration.
Leveraging NVIDIA’s AI stack for specific applications
The Infosys Topaz BankingSLM and ITOpsSLM models are powered by NVIDIA’s AI Stack, providing significant benefits to businesses that need customized AI solutions.
Developed within Infosys’ NVIDIA-focused center of excellence, these SLMs incorporate general and specialized industry data, refined through NVIDIA AI Enterprise and NVIDIA AI Foundry in partnership with Sarvam AI.
The collaboration aims to enable faster and more accurate AI deployment in industries with complex data and operational needs.
According to Infosys, SLMs are trained on smaller, higher-quality data sets compared to large language models (LLMs).
By refining data specific to banking and IT operations, these models aim to improve accuracy and reduce response times, helping businesses deploy focused AI applications more effectively.
Integration with existing Infosys solutions
The newly launched SLMs are designed to seamlessly integrate with established Infosys platforms such as Infosys Finacle and Infosys Topaz.
These integrations allow companies to use AI in specific operational areas, such as customer service and IT management, keeping processes aligned with industry requirements.
Infosys also offers pre-training and tuning services for companies that want to develop custom AI models tailored to their own data and business needs, ensuring data security and compliance.
Infosys Executive Vice President Balakrishna DR explained the goal: “As we advance our enterprise AI journey with NVIDIA, our focus is now on delivering critical small language models as services so businesses can thrive.
By integrating NVIDIA’s AI stack with Infosys Topaz, we are leveraging advanced enterprise AI capabilities to address unique business challenges, improve operational efficiency, and deliver customized solutions that drive business value for our customers.”
Enhanced features for industry-specific use cases
Infosys has expanded its work with NVIDIA to streamline AI application development by introducing features such as the Digital Human model to improve customer service and multi-modal PDF data extraction for more efficient data handling.
These advances align with a broader push toward the adoption of AI-powered processes across multiple industries, including telecommunications, retail, and financial services.
The Infosys-NVIDIA collaboration also covers digital solutions such as 3D workflows and digital twins through NVIDIA Omniverse Enterprise, which, combined with Infosys’ responsible AI suite and NVIDIA NeMo Guardrails, aims to foster safe and secure AI deployment. transparent.
The Infosys AI Experience Zone, launched as part of this initiative, aims to serve as a hub to explore and develop co-innovated AI solutions.
A growing partnership between Infosys and NVIDIA
The development represents a significant step in the collaboration between Infosys and NVIDIA. Jay Puri, executive vice president of NVIDIA, said: “Generative AI and recent advances in physical and agent AI are ushering in a new era of innovation and productivity for businesses around the world. “NVIDIA’s full-stack AI platform combined with Infosys Topaz enables businesses to create and deploy custom AI applications that will transform industries and help businesses unlock their full potential.”
