“I am against animal cruelty and believe that people should not harm them,” says Sood, expressing his opinion on the recent rise in cases of fights between animal welfare associations and dog feeders in various parts of the capital. He explains: “Imagine if we treat humans badly or beat them up; they will also come back to take revenge. The same is the case with dogs… The (resident welfare) associations are doing a great job by vaccinating stray animals and making them wear collars to ensure that they are identified as people who are caring for them. But we must understand that no animal harms humans unless they are disturbed.” [in their natural habitat]I must have been bitten once or twice while taking care of stray dogs, including pets, but that doesn’t mean I should start hating dogs!

Like most animal lovers, Sood emphasizes and reiterates how these voiceless beings are a source of immense love and care. “If you love dogs, you are lucky to be able to experience the feeling of unconditional love. I think no human can give you such unconditional love as a dog! When someone is suffering from a crisis, dogs help them through it. So I don’t think you can find a better companion than a dog when you want someone to be there for you. I am glad to see so many independent dogs being adopted lately. But you definitely need to show or appreciate the amount of love you see in them,” she concludes.
