Barakhamba Road Modern School recently celebrated the 78th Independence Day with the theme ‘Inclusion’.
Sanjay Kumar (IAS), Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India, participated in the celebration as Chief Guest and Major General Sanjay P. Vishwasrao, Additional Director General, National Cadet Corps, as Guest of Honour.
Anuradha Singh, Chairperson, Modern Schools Governing Body; Ambika Pant, Secretary, Modern Schools Governing Body; Mira Pradeep Singh, Treasurer, Modern Schools Governing Body; Col Vijay Chadda, Member, Modern Schools Governing Body and Chairman, School Management Committee; and other members of Modern Schools Governing Body and School Management Committee were present at the celebrations.

The school choir sang the national anthem while the national flag was hoisted. Dr. Vijay Datta, Principal, Barakhamba Road Modern School, introduced the Chief Guest and other dignitaries to the differently-abled members of the SPORTABILITY team, Inclusive Academy, and briefed them about the initiative taken by the school.
The dance and drama performance titled “Inclusivity: Unstoppable Indians” with the live choir enthralled the audience. Other highlights of the celebration were the school band, NCC display and the bagpipers march. The kaleidoscopic ballet and melodious panorama served as a great start to the Independence Day, mentioned a press release issued by the school.
